The Human and the beast

For more than twenty years, michel and louise Pageau take care of wild sick or injured animals. year after year, this has became a custom and a true passion. Anm ever increasing number of persons, as the conservation agents of animals life, are bring them animals that have been hurted and in needs of special cares. Those animals are taken into Pageau's Sanctuary, treated and give special cares, protected and then returnd to their natural habitat. For those who are unfit to return to the wild life, they become the special friends of the Pageau and borders at the pageau's refuge. For that reason, the sanctuary has became an observatory for the wild life animals in Northern Quebec and is open to everyone. Progressively and at his own pace, the conservation of wild life animals and protection by the human have became the priority at the Pageau's refuge. Each year, nearly 14 000 peoples come and meet the boarders of the refuge and share the passion of Michel and Louise. It's more than just a simple visit at the observation site, those persons have discovered that the Pageau's Refuge is a place of respect and collusion between the human and the beast.



A Seasonnal Basis

The Pageau's Refuge is open to public on a seasonnal basis. a guide will give visitors pertinent informations about animals and ther ecology. Other services such as conferences, group visits and information sessions are also offered.



Centre des marais et ses Habitants Inc. is a non-profit organisation founded in 1986, it's objectives are wildlife conservation and promotion. A (11) members administration board is responsable for the developement of the center, fruit of the pionneering work done by actual director Mr Michel pageau.
